Need RAM for my new build

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,

Newbie to the forums here, but a long time lurker.

Just built myself a new computer, posted the specs of it under the name NuBlazr, and I need help picking out RAM for this computer.

I do a lot of multi-tasking, I have dual monitors on this PC, but I usually have tri-monitors. The whole reason I built this new computer was because I had upgraded the RAM on my old one to the highest the motherboard supported. As you can see, I'm going to need some very good RAM.

I have a bascially unlimited budget, but would obviously want RAM thats good value. The processor is an AMD Phenom II 1090T and the motherboard is Asus Crosshair IV Formula. Rest of the specs can be seen posted under the name NuBlazr.

So can any of you guys give me some suggestions for what RAM I should get?

Thanks for reading this, much appreciated.

2x2GB kits usually offer the best speed and 4x2 will run well with an x6.
$70-100 budget: 2x 2x2GB Kingston HyperX Blu 1600 CL9 (CL8 capable) - $50, $35 AR each kit ($100, $70 AR for 2)
$130-140 budget: 2x 2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 CL7-8-7 (6-8-6 capable) - $65 each kit, $130 for 2.
I'm feeling lucky: 4x SuperTalent 2GB DIMM Project X 2000Mhz CL7-7-7 (capable: 1600 5-6-5, 1800 6-6-6, 2000 7-7-7, 2133 8-8-8) - $100 each DIMM, $200 for 2, $400 for 4.

As I do quite a bit of multi-tasking and have a lot of applications open at once, I think I will need a 8GB or a 16GB kit for this build.

A 4GB kit is way too small, on my last computer I had the motherboard maxed out at 2GB and a 10GB swap and was running very low on available RAM.

Anyone recommend me any good 8GB or 16GB kits that work well with the 1090T? Again, I will mention my budget is basically unlimited.

Well, if you guys think its the best solution for me, I will buy it.
I personally would prefer a 16GB kit as I think 8GB is way too small for me, especially since I want to hold onto this build for atleast 2 years.

If you think that RAM is the best for me, and if you can find me a retailer that ships to the UK (specifically Ireland) then I will buy it no problem and post the results I get.

Have been shopping around for RAM and came across this kit:

http://www.memoryc.ie/products/descr...nel/index.html

Anyone give me any idea how this should perform with a 1090T in a Crosshair IV Formula?

Thanks

Same-binned PSC ICs as everything else
Vastly overpriced
A 1600 7-8-7~6-8-6 kit would do you better.
