[NE] Fraction priced watches and jewelry at newegg lately (but why?)

Thread Starter
newegg keeps posting watches and jewelry for fractions of the origonal prices. I don't know watches and jewelry but I do know that one item that caught my eye was a Citizen eco drive watch with a diamond encrusted bezel for less than 150 not to long ago. "regularly" over 500 which sounds about right, since most eco drives range from 180-350 with no gems on them.

i'm tempted to jump on some jewelry for the GF for Vday but am wondering about the legitimacy. I wouldn't typically doubt newegg but presently there is a supposedly 1,000+ dollar pearl necklace for well under 200...

anyone know what gives?
necklace at 125$:

shellshocker diamond necklace was 300 now 85:

Those pearls are artificially colored.

I'm sure that effects the price compared to say, solid white pearls.

I bought my wife some nice looking cubic zirc diamond-esc earings for $5. She loved them.

It works like this:

"Honey look we got a package today."

"Here, Babe. Have some new [cheapo] jewelry."

"Aww thanks, Honey. You are too sweet. I hope you managed to get yourself something too."

(unboxes new GeForce/Radeon and stays out of doghouse).

I hereby bestow upon damric the title of "Hero"

Can't speak for the jewelry, but some of the watches are about in line with prices on other sites.

Cubic zirconium would probably be more expensive if diamond prices weren't propped up by a cartel keeping so much of the actual supply off of the market.

Hence why I advocate the purchase of synthetic diamonds. Cubic zirc has nowhere near the optical qualities of a diamond.

Here is the real question, why is Newegg using the Shellshocker for this? What happened to putting out incredible deals on the stuff they built their rep with?
