i tightened them so much that im afraid it might break the mobo. it seems as if none of the screws or any mounting gear is moving just the cooler itself. I still have about 2 days until i fully finish my build. If it swivels and it dosent compromise my heat then i guess thats how its going to have to be... Mine is mounted horizontal. Could that make a difference ?

My hyper 212+ killed 2 motherboards.. turns out i had a defective mounting kit, new one is fine. Newegg hints to huge QC variantancy.

How much does your swivel? Mine can rotate just a bit because the pin that prevents swiveling has some play before it is stopped by the mount.

My suggestion is if it works and cools well then don't worry about it.

Why did you tighten it so much? You're lucky that you didn't strip the bolt and get it stuck in there. Lesson learned the hard way like many of us. :[ Just make sure to be careful whenever handling your stuff. I've made plenty of mistakes, but boy did I learn from them.
