Sandy Bridge E "Enthusiast" in 2011?

Thread Starter
According to Fudzilla, they claim that Intel Sandy Bridge CPU will release a 6 core or 8 core enthusiast CPU Q3 2011. Some are claiming that LGA 2011 will be released in 2012 but there are many report of the socket being releases by Q3 or Q4 2011. However, there are many sites claiming that there will be an enthusiast Sandy Bridge based CPU that will be at least 6 cores and most likely an 8 core option as well. If LGA 2011 wont be released until 2012 will the this Enthusiast CPU this year be on the LGA 1155 or 1366 socket. Thanks

Its going to be the 2H 2011. Most likely Q3. But don't expect it to be cheap, will most likely be $700-$1000.

Does anyone have more information?

According to intel's roadmap from Dec 2010, Sandy E processors will come out in 3rd or 4th quarter 2011, but roadmaps can change. The prices historically will be be $300 920 equivalent, $500 for 950 equiv, and $1000 for 980 equiv.

But its the same question all of us waiting for 2011 platform want to know...but those that do know (intel) cant say, not to mention what they know may change anyways.

Sadly it looks like The enthusiast CPU is going to be a 6 core. Not only that knowing Intel its going to be pricing this CPU at 1000 U.S Dollars, its going to be less cores then AMD.

Looks like I am going to build an AMD 8 core CPU. Also, with its new architecture, AMD will be way better than it used to be. Moreover, AMD will probably charge 300-400 U.S dollars compared to Intel's 1000 dollars.

Plus it includes 2 extra cores.

Here is the link to Intel's dumb move http://www.overclock...thusiast-specs/

Intel is very disappointing. AMD here I come.

Where did you get your information?

Last I saw they are bringing out 4 6 and 8 core chips just like AMD.

Moreover AMD will charge whatever they can get for their CPUs. If its faster than the 8 core version of SB they will charge $1000 or more for it.
