Most 2GB SO-Dimms come with 2 rows of 4 chips on both sides. Total: 16 Chips of 128MB=2048MB
The Intel Atom N550 chipset needs single rank memory:
1 row of 4 chips on both sides. Total 8 Chips of 256 MB=2048MB
The single rank 2GB SO-DIMM is the the same as any 1GB SO-DIMM but the capacity of the chips is not 128MB but 256MB.
My system runs great with 2 GB and Ultimate Windows 7 x64!!
Even created a rar file with all x64 drivers. (I looked up all hardware ID's) and everyting works, I hate pre-installed systems....
Any single rank memory should work, but the one suggested does for sure it is a 800 Mhz. DDR3 more than enough for the Atom N550 dual core.
