This or That?

So in a recent chain of events, I have received a good amount of money that will allow me to afford a gaming laptop. I have narrowed down my search to two laptops, both are refurbished so I can get more for the price. Here are the two laptops:

The ASUS G72GX-RBBX05

And The ASUS G60JX-RBBX05

G60JX
PROS:I am considering the G60JX because of its i5 processor, newer gen GTX 360m 1 Gb GDDR5, DDR3 ram, 7200 rpm HDD, and its smaller resolution for better performance.

CONS: this laptop has a smaller screen (16" compared to the 17.3"), a 6-cell battery (not 8), and it is 2Gb less ram. Also, even though I will get better performance with a smaller res screen, my 15.6" Dell has a resolution of 1366x768 and it is a bit low res for me

G72GX
PROS: The G72GX on the other hand has a 17.3" screen, a 1600x900 high resolution screen, 2Gb more of ram, and an 8 cell battery.

CONS: This model has a lot of problems. Owner suffer BSOD's from it and often there are driver problems. Also, there are a lot of reports of this model often dieing after the warranty of serious problems than aren't cheap. Also, it contains a dated Core 2 Duo processor, DDR2 ram, and a 5400 rpm HDD.

I am mostly going to be using my laptop as my primary gaming computer so I want the most performance. I feel like going with the G60JX but for some reason I still want to get the G72GX. I am also open to other laptop suggestions, but I want the laptop's price to not exceed the price of these laptops as I am already over my budget.

My G72 has had phantom bsods but all in alll its a nice little laptop with plenty of power. For more speed, I threw a 7200 rpm scorpio black in it and swapped the 5400rpm drive into the second bay for data storage.

Thanks for the suggestions, but can someone tell me why? Hardware wise, isn't the G60JX superior?

sorry for the double post but i just learned that the 360m even though it is clocked higher and it is 40nm, it has a smaller bus (128 vs 256) and it has less shaders and stuff like that. Still deciding if the better processor and ram is worth the sacrifice in a lower screen resolution.

G60 most definitely. You wont notice a performance hit with the card running on a 128 bus. Also, at 16 inches, it would give you a lot better portability. I use my gf's 17inch lappy sometimes and it's a pain in the ass to drag around.

As for the resolution.. that's give and take. Better performance or a sharper looking screen. Personally, I'd take the performance.

The newer i5 is going to be a little bit better than the C2D, but it should also run cooler. And as for the memory, it should be upgradable anyway. So don't worry much about taking that into account.

so do you think the lower resolution, faster ram, better processor, and higher GPU clocks will balance out the GPU performance between the two?

Yeah.. here's a vid of BFBC2 in action

LOL This is the 3rd time I'm watching this vid. I did a lot of research about this laptop, and on some forums this video was used a lot

EDIT: My decision has been made. I have decided to get the ASUS G60JX because of its superior processor, faster ram, faster HDD, lower resolution screen (for better performance), and cooler GPU. I understand the GPU might not be as impressive but the better overall specs will balance my FPS. Also, the cooler GPU will allow me to overclock it to make up for its weaker architecture.

I appreciate all your help to allow me to make a decision and I hope to finally play every game there is without lag!!!!!
