Anyone still have an 8800Ultra? - Page 5

Spent the last couple hours running benches with my G80 8800GTS 640MB cards in comparison with my HD4850. Also thinking of adding my 9800GTX in for comparison as well.

Anyone still interested in any of this?

FlawleZ, we definitely appreciate any related contribution from any member. I'm sure many of us would find your benches very useful, so feel free to post them at anytime.

I should have some things to add here tomorrow (forgot the imgs at home) I did benches on JC2, Farcry2, Vantage, Stalker COP. I couldn't get the bench to work on Crysis even with the demo, not sure how to do that. I downloaded the one from Guru3d, actually 3 of them, FC2, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis, had there own benchmark tools. I couldn't run the FC2 bench that I downloaded because it required a higher patch, so I just ran the built in bench for the game. Doesn't GTA 4 have a benchmark tool? I should run that also..

I guess I will just add them all up into a post or what? Never submitted anything like this before, hopefully they are useful. I'm thinking if we get a few more on board for this, you might want to line out some rules for benching, such as what settings to use, etc.

Hmm I don't think I have a sli ribbon, maybe I can find one somewhere cheap.

Ok I am going to attach what I did. These were run on the sig rig.

I'm not sure how to attach the Farcry runs, they appear in an html file and consist of several charts.. ideas?

Cinebench OpenGL run

Just Cause 2 - Concrete Jungle bench

Just Cause 2 - Desert Sunrise bench

Just Cause 2 - Dark Tower bench

STALKER - COP runthrough 1

STALKER - COP runthrough 2

STALKER - COP runthrough 3

Vantage Run

Vantage (settings used)

Would you mind running Heaven also? I know its DX10 but still. I've completed running Heaven with 4 different cards to compare. I ran at 1680x1050, default settings. Also would you mind OC'ing your CPU some to see if it improves the scores any?

My workstations is running an 8800GTX as we speak. Couldn't let such an epic card sit in my bitz bin without folding on it!!

Do wish I had had the pleasure of owning an 8800 Ultra back in the day....

A month or so ago, two Ultras were listed in the OCN For Sale section for $60 each IIRC. Those must have sold so damn fast!
At long last...

Ok I'll download that one, these are just a first step for me. I want to get any of the kinks worked out before I run tons of things, tweak, OC, etc. I've never really benched or submitted results for anything so I'd like to figure out a good procedure for it. Like, what programs to have open during screenshots, I think I put up enough proof in them.

Yea I saw those, pretty sweet deal. I know my Ultra put out about 5600-5900 ppd stock clocked. I actually picked up a pair of these, hmm about a year ago? off ebay for a slick price.. ha

Much appreciated man. Again the idea here is to see how relevant and capable the G80 still is today with a modern computer and up to date drivers. Maybe scaling down to 1680x1050 for some benchmarks would be nice to see also. Thanks again for posting what you have so far!

I ran those ones in 1920 x 1080 as I thought there would be the greatest chance for someone else to be comparing with those res. Actually JC2 was run at native resolution, that game isn't very nice to my card with high settings.. ha. Runs pretty much everything else excellent though.

So if it is just us benching/comparing then I can scale them down to your resolution easy enough. I'll get some input on what I've done so far, and then I'll run Heaven and we can go from there.
