the scratches on the yellow pipes were triplicated.
but i think metro 2033 and american mcgees alice stand out in my mind for jarring quality.
though looking back on alice probably wouldnt be favourable with todays high end gpu's

I rather liked the graphics in Batman: AA. Mass Effect series games are quite good too. DMC 4 still rocks also.

Mate, he said beautiful, not about it demands a lot. I think it is nice to look on a game from another perspective than the blood from your opponent or the explosion destroying a city. Also it's a game that attract not only hardcore gamers like example Metro 2033 and Crysis primary does, but is possible to play and enjoy by a lot of people. And by the way following the game-o-meter on yougamers.com it almost requires same CPU speed for max settings. And I actually get less FPS there than in Crysis and about the same minimum as Metro 2033.

Metro 2033, Mirror's Edge, and for me the first game I remember playing on the computer: The Journeyman Project.

OP didn't ask what games had the best graphics. One of the most beautiful games I played is machinarium. Beautiful artistic style.
