Which is the best GTX 560 ? - Page 8

I was pretty surprised how hot the EVGA SC gets. But it's @ 900Mhz w/ 1.062V, so it makes sense. I haven't seen any other EVGA SC voltage reports though, so I'm not sure if they just set them all to 1.062V or if they're doing any binning. I wonder if tech support would answer a question like that?

If evga did two things, I would buy their products.

1) Make their warranty transferable, even if they had to downgrade to a 3 year or 5 year warranty.

2) Make their own custom cooling designs. All evga ever does is slap their sticker on a reference product.

I actually went with the asus card instead of the gigabyte soc. I wasn't about to wait for the gigabyte card to come back in stock, and i'm not really interested in the highest possible clock, but the toughest and most stable product. And in my opinion, asus has the best quality video cards.

i would like to think that evga is binning there superclocked cards. let us know if you get an answer out of them as i am really curious about this myself.

to the person who said evga's 560 line up is boring: sorry to say, i have to agree. dont get me wrong i love evga. they are a great company and there support is second to none. but i really wish they would step up there video cards. maybe do what msi is doing. custom pcb's and some really nice cooling solutions. im sick of evga ref cards to say the least. i have gone with msi in the past and have not regretted it.

To be honest the only, and I mean only thing that stands out about evga is their customer support. Other than that, they aren't that great.

This really sucks. I'd be pretty sad if evga really is cutting corners with their SC by simply bumping the voltage, and to think I was 3 seconds from pulling the trigger for one of these SC cards. I can hit 950/2200 (ram) with my gtx 560 TFII at 1.000v, 60c running benches and the fans stay quiet. I've yet to push the voltages.

As for my boring statement: that's all I meant. I'm a repeat evga graphics card customer and have had first hand experience with their RMA process; I'll be the first and loudest to say that they are golden. (I had one Asus graphics card RMA and swore that I'd never let that happen again.)

and sometimes, like what happened to me twice, their customer support is crappy...

i will say that over the phone they're good about things, but by email they are one of the worst companies i've ever dealt with. But seeing as some of us don't always have time to make phone calls, i feel like the "excellent" customer support is wasted, and we should look elsewhere

I had been all set on the MSI and tossing some VRM sinks, but bit on the $220 shipped deal from Newegg. I've a feeling most of you would have caved too.

I do see 81C load though, lol! Probably should start lowering the voltage and see where it gets stable, huh?

Are people tossing VRM sinks on TFII cards? It's something I'm definitely up for, especially since I plan to grab another 560 in a month and overclocking both.

Any recommendations on such?

I think it was VRZone that got a small bump in OC by adding some sinks to the voltage area.

EDIT:

"As the VRM of the N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II is not heatsinked, we found it to be hindering our overclock. Slapping a small heatsink on the MOSFETs immediately raised the ceiling, allowing us to go past 1050MHz for the core."
