Meh, hacking your own ps3 for whatever you want to do is fine in my book. That said, with the arrogance displayed by most of the hackers, i think they are getting exactly what they deserve.. a big fat lesson.

My bet is Sony doesn't sue them for anything just makes their lives very inconvenient for however long they feel like it, which in my mind is just the humbling these arrogant morons need.

Why all the Sony rage now? The PSP (phat and slim) were hacked quite early on (FW 1.50 IIRC) and they didn't give a crap about it other than just releasing more firmware updates. If they're "protecting their product" I don't see why they didn't do the same for the PSP (not saying that they should, this lawsuit stuff is BS, but inconsistency here).

This is just Sony reminding everyone that when you buy a PS3, you aren't paying for the hardware, you're paying for permission to use it (which they can revoke at any time). Keep up the good work Sony.

Good christ this is getting out of hand.

Sony is grasping at anything they can now.\\

Even if they subpoena the sites for the hackers ip address in an attemp to track them down and sue them, if they are sucessful, nothing will change because there will always be hackers working on the ps3. if anything, this act that Sony is doing is just going to fuel the fire even more.

After seeing how this is unfolding, I am glad its been a long time since I bought any hardware from Sony and that its continuing on.

what would they get from removing those files on the net, its already too late, majority of the ps3 owners already have those files and tools are already spring here and there
