Final Question Will
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231428

Work with the FX

If so will only 2 sticks work to start with by plugging into the same colors

Thanks again for advice

What do you mean "to start"? 8 GB is a lot and more than most PC's require or use.
For the same colors, Im assuming you mean the RAM slots. Yes, you want to try and fit them into the same color to allow for dual channel. As for compatibility, Ive heard of a few people running ASUS mobo's with Phenoms in them running GSKILL RAM. Make sure you buy your stuff at the same time though, it will help with compatibility/returning and vendors may even lower prices by the time you commit to the full purchase.

I mean 8gb to start as the board holds 16gigs max Im gonna start with 2 4 gig sticks

Gonna order all the parts on the 11th but ram goes off sale today so gonna order it if price changes by the 11th i can still return it

just wanted to make sure it will work

So to sum it all up

2 4gig sticks -8g will work to start correct

I dont exactly understand what you mean by to start.
A comp can run of 512mb RAM. Even less. It will just be slow. What I wanted to say was that it depends on what you are doing. Generally, gaming, at this moment most mainstream games, dont require more than 4GB of RAM. If you want 8 gigs, go for it. But for gaming, the point of diminishing returns is around 4 gigs. I cant say for sure it will work simply because I havent had personal experience with this RAM

This person is using the exact same set with a 890GX chipset.

Ide say ur odds are verrryyyy goood using the 890FX with this set of RAM

Anyways, do you have a buddies comp you can test them out in?

NCIX, my local computer hardware dealers website, shows compatibility with both motherboards your looking at.

Ahh... Ok I get your question! haha...
Yes! It will be ok to add just the 2 to start with. You could even start with 1 stick, which is a great way to test your sticks to see if they work properly - stick one in, test, try the other. Anyways... You dont need to fill all 4 slots for your computer to function. Preferably, try and keep to the 2 or 4 slots filled for dual channel, as it is a great benefit when it is active.

Keep in mind you have absolutely nothing to gain by 'upgrading' to 16 GB unless your current memory utilization is ~>85% with 8 GB..
