Doesn't make a gigantic difference with current cards to use 8x/8x CF/SLi. Only a couple of percent performance variation.

Took me a minute to remember back to Nov/Dec when I was a newegg junkie looking at boards, to remember the difference between them.

And I read a review using 2 gtx580s, and at ~2600x1600, 8x/8x was practically identical to 16x/16x, the 8x/8x actually was like ~1fps better in whatever games they benched.

And at the multi-monitor eyefinity 5000x1600 or whatever it was, the 16x/16x was better then, but still only by a few fps.

I wish I could remember the article, search a few times for 8x/8x vs 16x/16x (or was it x8/x8 vs x16/x16) and gtx580 you can find it, I have to go wash clothes, cause they ain't gonna do it themselves...
