Q6700 high temps - Page 2

it´s important to know that tjmax is calculated by distance to tjmax, which is not lieing. only the temp can be wrong not the distance.

I am thinking about getting a used ASUS P5Q Deluxe or Gigabyte UD3P and sell this P5B with my E6600.

For safe 24/7 usage keep your core temperatures under 75C at all time..

Also when using CoreTemp program make sure that your Tjmax is set to 90C for accurate readings..

If it says Tjmax=100 then just acknowlege that your actual core temperature is 10 lower than what CoreTemp reads..

CHEERS..
You know, when I adjust CoreTemp -10C on each core, my lowest core is 17C at idle. 17C is about 62F and my room temp is 72F. That doesn't make sense at all. Where did you find that the TjMax is 90?? Closest I have seen to a definitive answer is, someone testing there own chip and found it throttled at 98C, which would be 100C TjMax.

Edit: lowest core is now idling at 16C set to -10C offset when TjMax is 100C. (Effectively 90C)

Edit 2: Idle temps are never to be trusted... got it.
