I think the most people can agree that 'extra crap' actually took away from the gameplay making it even less tactical. Now you have equipment/killstreaks tailored to telling you where all the enemies are at all times. You don't need to approach any new area with caution anymore. You essentially have a road map to all your victims. Still not sure where the enemies are hiding at? Well now we got multiple area of effect type killstreaks that wipe half the map clean.

On top of that the perks allow you to engage your enemies at lightspeed. The game itself became too easy which is probably why the devs included the 'Pure' mode which is more like multiplayer pre-COD4. Now, most people would be fine with all this if BO didn't have as many issues as it does.

But I do agree with you that CoD4 was the CoD franchise in it's prime now multiple spinoffs are turning this into something very ugly. This is why I'm excited for BF3 as it's returning to its roots. More or less refreshing BF2 instead trying to make it completely different.

If they want to make a real "Hardcore" mode that's more "realistic" I want to see caliber specific damage, so if that machine gun shoots .308 and so does the sniper rifle that machine gun should do one shot kills to. "OH NO OVERPOWERED" not when you add proper things like recoil and ergonomics of weapons to compensate. That would be a real "Hardcore" mode that players of could brag about being higher skilled if they played it.


COD used to be good, with COD:UO, they combined the best of COD1 & BF1943 together to make an awesome game. Vehicles, big maps and realism.

I'm personally sick and tired of CODs use of nonexistent crap like red dot sights in WWII & Vietnam, etc and laser accurate guns.


Battlefield make you feel like your actually taking part of an operation in a ground war. Mods like PR just make you feel like your at war.
im suprised you have shown up in the battlefield 3 threads, esp after everything you had talked about turned out to be nothing but wrong.

They are catered to different styles of play in my opinion. In COD it's a straight up run and gun... You don't need tactics or more importantly... A team. I can pick up scavenger in COD and be completely self reliant... You have to have someone helping you kill if you plan on staying alive for an extended amount of time.

Also, there is just a certain adrenaline rush I get when a house wall is blown to pieces in front of me... But that's just me.

The easiest way to tell if a FPS multiplayer war game is any good is the sound.

If the game sucks, the developers bombard you with sound. Canned gunfire, jets, mortars, always some sound to distract you from how crappy the run and gun game is after 30 minutes.

If the game is team based, the sound is good but the ability to communicate is MORE IMPORTANT.

VOIP in game is huge, BF2, use it all the time or better yet, Teamspeak or Vent. COD you couldn't hear crap on TS cause the game was so loud... same with MDH.

BadCo is better but still the ambient sounds drown out any chance at good squad comms.

What about remaking CoD but with better graphics? I'd think that would attract all them lil' kids with their CoD obsessions.

Anyway, I agree with him. I think we have enough indie CoD remakes. They didn't kill CoD, they (imo) just offered a cheaper version of it for poorer players.
