Is my overclock ok?

Thread Starter
I have just done my first overclock. I managed to get 4.6 MHz. Anything over 4.6 gives me stability problems.

As this is my first ever overclock would somebody mind checking my BIOS settings and temps are ok.

So far I have done/checked

I have kept memory timings at default
5 runs of Intel Burn test with stress level at maximum and threads on auto.
Ran Prime95 with Blend without errors for 2 hours so far

My Specs are

Windows 7 64bit
Asus P8P67 Pro
i7 2600k
Megahalems rev B cooler
2x4GB g.skill rpjawx
GTX 580
GTS 450 (for Physx)
Asus Xonar D2X
1TB WD
Blu ray writer
DVD writer
800w Slient Pro Gold

BIOS settings

Target CPU turbo mode speed : 4600 MHz

Target DRAM speed : 1333 MHz

AI overclocker tuner = Manual
BCLK/PEG frequency = 100.0
Turbo ratio = by all cores and can adjust on OS set to multiplier of 46
Internal PLL overvoltage = Disabled
Memory frequency = auto
EPU power saving mode = disabled

DIGI + VRM
Load line calibration = high
VRM frequency = auto
VRM spread spectrum = disabled
Phase control = standard
Duty control = T.probe
CPU current capability = 100%

CPU voltage = manual mode
CPU manual voltage = 1.350
VCCSA voltage = 0.90000
VCCI0 voltage = 1.00000
CPU PLL voltage = auto
PCH voltage = auto
CPU spread spectrum = auto

Idle temps

Temps after about 2 hours of Prime95 with blend

Your screenshot for the load temps says that the cpu is under 0% load, i assume it was taken just after the test?

4.6ghz is a good overclock but those load temps look a little high, i get similar with my i7 (4ghz/1.3v).

Leave it at 4.6ghz and keep lowering the cpu voltage until you can't boot into windows, then you'll know the lowest voltage you need. Then all you need to do is up the voltage a little bit and start stress testing
Another reason for the temps could be if the heatsink isn't mounted properly or poor airflow in the case.

Get aftermarket cooling please like an H50. Those temps are too high
