My wireless laptop is sitting next to my desktop which has no wireless card. Im connecting an ethernet rj45 cable from the laptop to the desktop and bridging the connection. But as soon as I do, I lose the wireless signal completely.

Windows Vista on laptop and 7 on Desktop.

You shouldn't, are you using the right Ethernet cable? I believe you're sposed to use a Patch Ethernet Cable. Not just any Ethernet cable with do.

Yes, i`m using a regular CAT5. I've done it before on windows XP though. Although the only thing is that I don't know if that cable I used to use was CAT5 or CAT6.

I know I was having problems trying to connect my desktop and laptop, but anything and everything I did didn't work. I believe it came down to me using the wrong cable. Now the whole wireless signal being lost, now that's confusing. Shouldn't happen.
