Completely untrue.

If a store notices a wrong price in an add, all they have to do to cover their butt (and charge the real price) is just to make an in store announcement concerning the issue (in writing for all to see). The courts have upheld this time and again.

This sincerely enraged me today... You can't just take away something that you technically purchased, that's theft.

It's their problem that they didn't keep track of their store... What they've done here is thievery, and I won't be taking that apology very sincerely

Using the wrong advertised price is not a real good apples-to-apples comparison. That is as simple as posting notice of the print error. There is no such luck on completed transactions or items that are that are marked incorrectly.

In this case, NVIDIA completed the transaction and sent out product keys.

There was no upfront notice and it took 3 days for them to email their apology.

If you went in to Best Buy and they had widgets marked on the shelf for $5.00 and they tried to charge you $50.00 at the register, they have to sell you the widget for $5.00 and eat the $45.00. You can bet that once the error is found and the erroneous tag is pulled, they can go back to charging folks $50.00 for widgets.

In the end though, the "too good to be true" rule reigns supreme. No decent lawyer is going to take up the "I deserve a free game" cause for you. Everyone who did this gambled and lost.

In this case, it would be like the store adjusting you credit card after the transaction because of a incorrect price...which is not legal..

Its a digital service, meaning, instantly as soon as you place Submit. Plus this is all online and digital, if this was a store and was a poster with this, then ya, it be illegal if they gave us them and took back. But this is online.

Next time, facts before post.
LOL, just beacuse its online dosnt mean you loose all your rights. why dont people get it. this is just like a store having a poster saying, here sign up and we will give you this free game, then walking out and 3 days later they deactivate your key they gave you...

Online does not mean laws do not apply.

Correct. When I made my statement I didn't go detailed enough to say that they had the shelf tag at the lowered price. If that price is on the shelf, they have to honor the price. It's how I got a Z-5500 set for $120. The person that was behind me in line at Tiger Direct ran to the shelf to grab one before they fixed it.

You do know we "stole" from NV right? And legally, there just getting their stuff back. SO before you go and act all tough and NV is in the wrong.

We are ALL IN THE WRONG.

The internet took advantage of a slip up, still called "theft" in certain ways, and NV just took whats theirs back.

So before you go OMG ITS MY KEY GIVE IT BACK. you stole my friend. No, you dont get it back. My key got taken away, don't care though, metro was bad anyways. But at least NV is pissing you off, +1 to NV
