Pretty sure when you used the key you accepted some sorts of terms and conditions, just because it was not explicitly explained to you in the form of an e-mail doesn't mean it wasn't there. Or wait, does your statement work in exact reverse... I think it does. Show me something somewhere that says you DID in fact own the key when you accepted the "deal". See what I did there? Hurr durr... Name me some deals like this where you don't accept terms and conditions.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent visit to the NVIDIA Online Store.

We apologize for any inconvenience, however the free order you placed for Metro 2033 was based on an invalid promotion that was never intended to be
publicized. All orders placed under this promotion have been cancelled and activation keys have been deactivated.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Sincerely,

My email:

Now what you've done here is thievery, and let me tell you why.

According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary (A world renowned source for English definitions), customer is defined as, "One that purchases a commodity or service." In this case, you have referred to me as a customer, correct? Then how can you justify denying me, a customer, "One that purchases a commodity or service", my product, otherwise known as my commodity? You may try to argue that it's free, and that I did not really indeed purchase it, but that's irrelevant and untrue, a transaction still took place, and I recieved an invoice. As far as these definitons are concerned, I am a customer, as you yourself have stated, and I had purchased your product... With me being one of your, customers, I must demand that you (as this truly is your fault) reimburse me with another product key. Because quite frankly, your apology for this thievery is completely and totally blasphemous.

That is all,
A Disgruntled Customer
I'll eat both of my shoes, socks and all, capture it in HD video, and post it on YouTube if you get a key.

Only being metaphorical.

Wow, so many complainers on OCN!

Its not illegal to retract the keys, as it was an accident in the advertisement.

Who cares, get over it.

I remember when Dell wrongly labelled some monitors on their Asian sites and were forced into honouring some of the sales at the price.

Why is this any different?

this has gone way out of hand and the behaviour in here has been unacceptable. don't insult others, don't call people names, don't start flamewars, and don't be so blatantly disrespectful as to be rude.

If you don't like OP's thread, DON'T read it, I know it s a hard concept. But let me help you. Instead of typing words and hitting reply button, just hit the back button on your browser. He is free to post a thread just like you. But you SHOULD be required to show a certain form of respect and professionalism instead of just posting verbal onslaughts.
this.
