Excellent comparison, thank you. What DIMM slots were you using for the comparison ? When I setup with 2T (I have to use slots 1 & 2 or 3 & 4) I get horrible numbers, 14GB/s read and write. I think there may be an issue with my BIOS.

Using the blue slots (A2 and B2) for both tests as recommended by the mobo manual for 2 DIMM's. If using your numbering scheme and slot 1 is the one closest to the CPU, then I'm using slots 2 & 4.

I couldn't get my 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance kit to run at 1866. Best I could do is 8-9-8-24-1T DDR3-1600. Stock is 9-9-9-24-1T DDR3-1600. Not all ram is created equal I guess.

For 1866 try 9-10-9-27 2T at 1.6v. If it's stable lower the voltage. Right now I'm more inclined to recommend 1866 2T over 1600 1T. I'm going to be posting a comparison test of all these speeds/timings.

I tried that but not at 2T. Would be interested in your results for the latency differences.

With 2T you'll be able to get stable with less voltage. Try the settings I recommended.

I'm probably going to post the results of the memory testing in the memory sub-forum. I'll link the new post to this thread when I do.

+1. I had been using a beta BIOS on my board that had a bug which forced the memory to 1T. Now that that is sorted (I flashed back to an earlier BIOS), I've got the Vengeance CL8 2x4GB kit @ DDR3-1866 8-9-8-24-2T @ 1.52V. Looking very stable so far and the memory bench numbers are the same or even better.

That's a good place to be: 1866 CL8 2T @ 1.52.

Looks like my final OC is going to be 1866 CL9 2T, sorting out the lowest stable voltage now... Not bad for $90 for 8GB of this stuff!

Not for memory testing. I've been using WMD, HCI (3 instances) and P95 Blend.
