Any rollercoaster tycoon addicts in the house?
If so, anyone heard anything of a new one coming soon or anything?

I loved the first two, you know the ones made by Chris Sawyer. It was one of the few modern games at the time I could run on my Intel PI.

I heard good things on the third game, but I havent tried it out yet.

Here is what I found pertaining to the 4th game. It was taken from Wikipedia.

Quote:
On August 14, 2010, Atari posted up on their message boards what fans would like to see in the 4th game. This has led to heavy speculation about the chances of a sequel.[11] Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 was also spotted on IGN.[12]

I played the absolute hell out of RCT1 and 2. I was excited for the third back in 05 but realized my crap computer at the time wouldn't be able to play it. I finally ended up with a decent enough system so I could enjoy that as well.

RCT3 is definitely more indepth than the first two. More variety of landscaping, coaster designs and shops.

My only complaint (why I stopped playing it) was the limited track design options for coasters. You could only bend tracks at certain angles and only have a finite number of possibilities for layouts. It was hard trying to replicate many real life rides because of this.

I wish they would create some way of being able to completely customize the tracks like more popular Simulation coaster programs out there (NoLimits Coaster comes to mind). It really held the game back in my mind.

I honestly don't see them coming out with another RCT after the whole debacle with Chris Sawyer. Not to mention the ever shrinking market on this type of game. One can dream though.

I have seen some amazing landscaping creations though. Honestly the only thing that kept the game alive for as long as it did was community mods. Look at this creation for example, there are some really talented people out there. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum...2845&start=110

rct1 and 2 are easily 2 of my favorite games I've ever played. I used to play the first one all the time, and when the second one came out I played it a lot too. when the third one came out however, I played it a little bit and then got bored. didnt really like the graphics and gameplay at all.

same thing happened with the sims. I played the first one, bought all the expansions all the way up to makin magic, absolutely loved it. tried out sims 2, hated it. it acted way too serious and was way too cheesy. the first sims tried acting serious, but was so stupid and so funny that it was entertaining.

This pretty much 100% but I didn't tired of the Sims until the 3rd.

RCT1 and 2 were just extremely fun. I never had a PC good enough for 3, and once I did I just couldn't get into it.

I never got to play the full game but I played the crap out of the demo, over and over (RT1 if memory serves)... Was really big on all the Sim games back in the day (Simcity 2000 robbed way to many hours of my life )
