Last check before ordering, any suggestions?

Since Intel recalled all P67/H67 motherboards 3 days before my money for Sandy Bridge rig arrived, (and I'm not paying even more than that for 1366) I'm forced to buy a temporary computer that I'll just pass over to my brother once I put my hands on Bulldozer or Sandy/Ivy Bridge.

So far I came up with:
CPU: Phenom II x4 955 BE C3
MOBO: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
RAM: 2x4GB or 2x2GB GoodRAM 1333MHz CL9 1.5V - 99% of you might have never heard of this brand before, but it's recommended a lot in Poland and people say it OC very good. It's also MUCH cheaper than well known brands.
GPU: HD 6850/GTX 560/HD 6950/GTX 570, not 100% sure yet, leaning towards HD 6950 2GB since it's only $30 more than GTX 560
PSU: OCZ ModXStream 600W (Not the best PSU but have it lying around unused)
HDD: 2x Samsung F3 500GB in Raid0 + 2x Samsung F3 1GB in Raid1 (have those already)
CPU Cooling: CM Hyper 212+ (Have this one lying around as well)

G.Skill and BIOSTAR is not available here so can't get ECO RAM and TA890FXE .

Is there anything you'd change? I'm trying to keep the price as low as possible without going cheapo.

Should I shell out $30 more for 1600MHz RAM with heatspreaders? I have no clue how important RAM is for AMD builds and I'd be very happy to reach 4GHz OC for 24/7.

Also, is that motherboard OK? If there's one thing I can NEVER decide on when it comes to hardware, it's definitely motherboards. From all the reviews I've read it's a very solid one with lots of features, only complaint was about the x16/x4 in CrossFire but I'm definitely not going to use two graphic cards anyway.

Well, while it's supposed to be a mid-gaming rig, I really rather have more than 4GB, my current desktop equipped with 4GB DDR2 really chokes with Photoshop running, God forbid if there's anything else in the background at the same time...

I think you should spend a little less on the ram and get a hexacore, especially if you talk of photoshop locking up. Depending on what you can afford, get one or two of these and one of these. The 1090T will really help you out with demanding programs like photoshop and it's only $200 bucks. Even if you're on a budget, i'd try to stretch it to include the 1090T.

Difference between 4GB and 8GB of RAM is only $20 or so, 955 to 1090T is like $90 more, and for (nearly) that price I could've had 2500K...
If I was to go for Thuban, I might as well get Crosshair IV Formula etc., but IMHO for that money Intel outperforms AMD.

Besides I don't think games will utilize more than 4 cores anytime soon (same can be said for RAM but the latter is MUCH cheaper) which makes hexacore rather useless for my brother, as he's going to own this computer within 3-4 months.

But lets say I might consider going for Thuban, would this mobo (M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3) handle them well, or I'd have to invest into something better?
Are Thubans as fast as Phenoms X4 in applications where the extra 2 cores are not utilized? Do they OC worse/as well/better?

This may sound tempting, but don't fall for it. I'm looking into a GPU upgrade myself and considered this, but after some research found that this method of saving a few bucks would more likely than not have me a permanently damaged card within two weeks.
Depending on your budget, i would reccomend the 560 overclocked or the 570 reference, both are kick-ass cards and will certainly get the job done. Unfortunately, you're in the same boat as me with your power supply and would be stretching your luck if you tried to overclock a 570.
On the ATI spectrum, the 6870 will blow you AWAY as far as bang for buck, but the 6950 and 6970 will perform damn well in games.

As far as I know you can only damage it by flashing the 6970 BIOS into 6950, unlocking shaders and overclocking 6950 to 6970 clocks should be perfectly safe (of course, as much as OCing is safe) but correct me if I'm wrong please.

Unlocking the shaders entails flashing the BIOS of the card. From what i found, cards that were flashed and coreclock set to 880, but the memory clock stayed at 6950 speeds didnt break nearly as often, which means that the problem lies within the overclocked memory.
With this being said, damage is still a slight possibility. Like i said before id reccomend shelling out for a 6970 or a 570 if you can, but if you choose to go the 6950 route and flash to unlock the shaders, make sure that the very next step you take is to drop the memory clock back down to the 6950 stock clock.
