hahhehehe... biggrin.gif

Something better for my Swans M50w over the DX i currently have. DX sound way better than onboard but I feel it sounds a bit hollow and can be improved. (with a better card)

The DX actually has a good DAC for a soundcard. It's the same as the one in my Xonar ST, more or less, and AFAIK it has all the same speaker-related software features... The ST/STX just has some better power circuitry, built in headphones amps, and (if I'm not mistaken) a better ADC. The TiHD is roughly comparable, but again a headphone-focused card.

The Xonar Essence and HT Omega cards are even older than this ancient thread tongue.gif

I think the only way up from there is an external DAC or a dedicated receiver, if you think it's worth the investment.

The Xonar DX is more than enough for the Swans. I use the D1 (identical to the DX) with $500 Behringer B3031A Truth speakers.
If I were you and wanted better sound, the first thing to upgrade would be the speakers even though the Swans are great for their price. But ~$120 speakers will always stay as ~$120 speakers, even if you buy a $1000 DAC for them.

EDIT: Your sig is saying that you also have Fiio E10... Use the line-out for the Swans to see if it's better than the DX.

I will give it a try. Thanks.
PS: The speakers you mentioned have rave reviews.
