Get them while they're cheap!!!

You know there is an age old rule in business that requires a business passes on any cost of doing business on to the customers, that is, if the business wants to remain in business...

What this means to all of us consumers is, when a company goes spending/losing a lot of money (law suits / charities & what have you), someone has to pay for all of that...

This is usually seen by a company raising the price of their product, and if a product doesn't sale, then of course the next product they produce has to cost more... This is known as alleviating expenses and the cost of doing business!

So, what I'm trying to say is, look at what Intel has been doing as of the last year or two... Much of what you hear is a crystal ball into the future...

I expect prices for CPUs to rise significantly in the not so distant future!

With the economic woes the only thing that can come is inflation, though this may be putting myself out on a limb saying something so significant that it may not dawn upon the unaware, it's a needful statement!

They say savers are loser, because they are losing the value of their money, which is parked in a bank, to inflation, and this is 100% accurate! I'm not saying go drop all your money on computers or computer parts, but maybe you should consider the cost of the "super" CPUs of tomorrow carefully!

We seen from Intel's 6 core CPU that they are headed in a direction that they can AFFORD to take! Sure, there is still those Cheap dual core CPUs, but what I'm talking about here is a significant rise in the cost of ALL CPUs!

It wouldn't be unthinkable for AMD & Intel to discontinue producing low end CPUs, that should be expected, however I expect future CPUs to cost much more as time rolls on, but mostly this will be due to inflation, but not all of it.

As I noted at the beginning of the post company failures or extra cost incurred through poor management or plans, results in the consumer paying more for the product in the end...

Just something to consider I suppose, you can call me crazy, a fail or whatever, but I'm very aware of business, finances, and what's called the economy (or what's left of it, lol)...

AMD is trying to pay for production of newer CPUs, you have GOT to compete if you want to stay in business, that's all that is about, more or less..

Remember there are two ways to win, either be the best and get top dollar for your product, or be the cheapest and sell the most products!

========================

I anticipate that software developers will be designing for newer, more powerful, CPUs, not older ones...

We clearly see this in many games today which are capable of hogging much if not all of the CPU's power...

I really wouldn't consider Intel the best considering their Sandy Bridge Sata 3GB mishap.

No, I believe this is more so that they are taking advantage of Intel having the blunder Recall on SB, its a way to capitalize on Intel's dinged Public Relations I would imagine

Think about the CPU/GPU / APUs AMD just made, that doesn't seem accurate.

AMD is definitely moving to strategically overcome Intel, and this should have REMAINED their #1 goal since they lost the #1 spot...

Unfortunately AMD would have collapsed if it wasn't for the law suit they won, but I thought this was common public knowledge...

AMD has been piled in debt, their only strategic move is to "try" to get more shares of the market by being cheaper...

Of course there are other ways to win in business, however, mainly best and cheapest apply to the CPU market...

What other strategy is there for AMD?
