1366 Build or Wait? - Page 2

I would get 1366 now. You really don't need much better than an i7 950 OC'd, and you can get a Tri-SLI mobo for a much cheaper price compared to 1155.

And you plan to upgrade at the end of the year for sure?

EDIT: and what exactly are you going to be using it for? Just gaming?

Look at the ASUS P6X58D-E its a great board, getting cheap these days and can easily handle my OC to 4.0ghz or my 24/7 OC at 3.8ghz no problem.

Light gaming, office suite, sony vegas, major audio production, and photoshop! I will forsure upgrade to the ivy bridge architecture if it really lives up to the hype

Thank you

On a side note....If you want to save some money get a cheaper mobo, Unless you are going to be overclocking to well above 4.4ghz no need in a really expensive mobo....Even a x58a-ud3r can take any i7 to 4.0ghz.

Cooler is the best you can get, Bit i prefer the Frio a few c warmers but looks SEXY

YES SandyBridge is faster clock for clock (Slightly) and can overclcok a bit higher, But either will smash any games out till ivy...
The ivy bridge will be socket 1155 compatible, so I wouldn't recommend any i950 tbh

Most certainly go the 2600k route mate. It's very even on price if not cheaper. The 2600k doesn't have a recall only certain motherboards do. And it's not even a problem for now. Plus they have a fix.
1366 is about dead and buried with 1155 here.

I have just built my 2600k rig and compared to my 980x rig it's faster!!

I might just throw a red herring into the mix...

Try an overclocked 1055t @ ~3.8ghz!
Great for gaming and superb for photoshop etc

That was my secondary mobo option !! Since i can get an i7 950 for 200-220 at Microcenter, i will look to see if they have that board there.

Thanx
