CPU Bottleneck? - Page 2

I'd give it another shot. I had 5 failed attempts with beta bios versions on my UD7 before I finally found one that worked. Try try again.

Thread Starter
It was the built in flash utility from within the bios reading from a CD and a flash drive. I do not have a floppy drive. I did burn a few cd's with the award bios flash utility from the asus website, but it kept saying my bios was write protected, but theres no options for that in the bios, or AV or shadow copy, and no jumpers on my board, nothing in documentation about it... Apparently you can not flash this asus board (or all asus boards?) from within windows...

Board is still under warranty, so I guess it couldn't be that bad to try, I'd just be out a mobo for a few weeks if I totally screw it up. But I think with the original CD, theres a locked part of the bios that will always attempt recovery if it see's the CD and sees a corrupt bios...

here is the url for the latest bios for our mobo version 1510. I had the same problem updating the bios. what you do is: 1-download bios 1510 from link below. 2-extract zipped file to a thumb drive or disk. 3-reboot, press delete to get into bios then scroll over to I think the 2nd to last tab that has profile save and asus flash tool. the flash tool that came with the original bios works best. 4- hit enter on the flash tool be patient and load file from the thumb drive or what not and let it proceed. I think the key was to get the file extracted into a .bin file that the flash tool can recognize.

Ive had this mobo for a while and just recently upgraded to the 1090t. but after many failed attempts only seemed to get the cpu up to 3.6 ghz and not very stable. ive been running stock for all of this year so far. So if anyone can help me with stability so I could get a better oc please respond I am clueless at this point?
