955 BE mild oc - Page 2

If you are not going for world record OC and want just small OC why not just do it with the Auto CPU level up feature. Thats all I do at 3.6, 30c idle 44c load ......

You should be able to get to 3.4GHz on stock Vcore. Did you try it without raising the vcore?

I'm 90% positive that with stock volts you can go to 3.7GHZ minimum by just upping the multiplier. Past that mark it depends more and more on the chip and board clockability. Reaching the 4GHz shouldn't be that difficult also, but would require a solid afertermarket cooler so the temps don't get critical.

Have you tried setting the RAM speed one level lower and increase the FSB by 5MHZ already?

The burn must have gone wrong. You can try using Infrarecorder to burn the ISO from the memtest site. I don't think that cool n quiet will help your situation, but I could be wrong. Also, what Power Supply do you have?
