Simple voltage question.

Thread Starter
When I set my CPU voltage to 1.4v in my bios my cpu at max load reaches 1.44v, is this a false reading by cpu-z or when setting a voltage does it simply set a range of voltages which your cpu is allowed to supply? for example 1.4v will allow the motherboard to supply 1.4-1.44v to my cpu.

So in short, when you set the cpu/any voltage to for example 1.4v, does it provide exactly 1.4v or does it provide more if needed?

The answer to your question would probably have to come from someone that has signed a Non Disclosure Agreement with AMD, and after they told you, they'd have to kill you.

CPU voltage is an extremely complicated subject. Suffice to say that the motherboard will supply what the CPU wants.

Perhaps others can be more helpful.
