870 extreme 3 overvolting

Thread Starter
So I unlocked and overclocked my 555 BE and ran Prime95 10 hours without errors, on default voltage (1.4)
Then I noticed in CPU-Z that under full load voltage goes up to 1.47??
Is this normal or should I be worried, can it be fixed?

Do you have Vcore set to auto?
If so, there is your problem.
Set it manually.

With a 125W CPU? (X2 unlocked counts as 125W) Well, considering the 4+1 VRMs are heatsinked, you'll be okay but keep at 1.475V or below.
Why vCore would be going up during load THAT much is weird, if the VRMs were unstable it should be going down I think?

So I just tried fiddling with the CPU Load Line Calibration which has the settings auto, normal, slight, disabled and set it to normal, and it showed 1.4 constantly, with slight it's a minor increase, so problem solved!

Oh and it does have 4+1 phase but the MBO temps shown are pretty cool and the heatsinks aren't hot by touch.

Seems okay, The newer ASRock boards (i.e. Extreme3) offer worlds better quality than before, but as I said still don't pass 1.475V, your processor TDP is high enough as it is.
