9800GT vs GTX260 + C2D E6550 ?!

I can get a GTX260 really cheap and maybe a 9800GT even cheaper.
Now the problem is this, I only got 1x6 pin so I guess if I don't get a new PSU GTX260 is out?
Right now I have X1950 pro, yeah I know, ancient.
If I'm lucky I can get a 9800GT for like 15 USD.

I got the E6550 @stock.
How much difference would the GTX260 do over the 9800GT in Starcraft 2
Also, does the 9800GT take only one 6-pin?

The GTX260 is ~1.5x as powerful as a 9800GT, but you really can't beat a $15 price tag (and yes the 9800GT requires one 6 pin connector).

Then I'm just gonna try and get the 9800GT (which sould be quite alot better than my X1950 pro) which should be nice aligned with my CPU (atleast for SC2)

It was actually more like 20 USD, but doesn't matter too much.

Coming from an X1950, hehe yeah that's going to be a huge upgrade. My hat's off to you for milking that card for everything it's worth cheers.gif

I don't have my 9800GTs anymore, but I'd expect them to do well in SC2 on medium-high settings.

Well, I went with the GTX260 (got this adapter with 6-pin).
Works great
