Need to backup image from raid 0 back to one drive.

So I have two c300's in raid 0. I want to use one in another pc but don't feel like dealing with reinstalling windows again.

Will the built in backup in windows 7 handle going from raid 0 to a single drive. I used acronis in the past with just a single drive but even after backing up the boot manager it was never detected abd the backup always failed.

Anyone done this before?

No, you can't break a RAID0 array.

You can copy off the data though.

just image it.. it doesnt matter if its raid or not.. capture the image using even the windows tools for preparing an image for pushing to another disk would work. The array identified as one disc, so not sure why your having issues with it.

I'm not having issues just wanted to ask before hand as this is my first time using a raid array.

The issues were in the past with acronis.

So the steps here are
1. Make backup image with win 7 on separate drive
2. Reformat and remove one ssd
3. Install windows 7
4. Open backup and restore and restore with saved image

Is this how its done or am I missing something?

That is perfect. Just make the same account names and such when you re install. just makes it easier.
