*Sigh* I gave up with Intel's sandybridge. I was going to buy a Sandy Bridge build with my tax refund, but after the fiasco with their motherboards I just went ahead and got an AMD build... maybe when I make my next computer upgrade I will go the Intel route again.

Oh yeah and I did see Asus pro still in stock there were only 4 copies left, but that was the exact same day Newegg pulled their motherboards from stock. Amazon's price was ridiculous though and there's no combo discount so I swayed away from it.

Fixed chipsets or not, it still takes time to mass produce the boards, package them and ship them out.

They will be shipping these babies out by the container loads for us to consume... cant wait! but I will

i read intel already found about this issue already in January and started to work on the fix. if its true its normal the new fixed ones arrive on march no? but i doubt its true.

I think it will be march aswell, people have been making so much drama out of this. Most shops here in benelux still sell the boards with a replacement waranty once the new ones get shipped no need to wait building my SB rig this way

MBUDDEN i found the testing tool! Of course, they would release it AFTER people start turning in their boards or writing Intel off...

yep, that's exactly what they're doing.

In laptops only 2 SATA ports are often used, 1 for HDD, and the other for the Optical drive.

With pre-built PC's, the consumers rarely if ever opens up the PC, and they wouldn't know the difference if the Hard Drives were hooked up to the SATA controller or the MOBO. It's an easy work around for now.
