kdesrc-build woes [Solved! Tutorial soon. New pics!] - Page 2

gits = annoying open source download managers only super nerdy dev who haven't seen daylight in 10 years, know how it works. its meant to manage large software development easier, but to just grab source once in awhile, its not really worth it.

svn - same as git, but less nerdier dev can at least understand it.

kdesrc-build - super fancy bash script that kde dev's produce to make it so people can grab the source and compile it without looking for source tarballs

source tarballs - honeypots of gold from the gods handed down to mortal man.

So the tarballs didn't work, at least not all of them and I need some of the gits for things to compile right.

Update: So I got it to build and everything to run.... I'm using a much of scripts atm so it's kind of messy. The only problem is kwin won't load correctly. That is, it apparently loads but won't work and I have to use metacity to control my windows at the moment. =( This is not acceptable! lol I need to figure out what I've done wrong.

[edit] I forgot kdesupport! I'm trying to grab/build that now, oh man this is going to be a long adventure. ='(

[edit2] Victory is half way mine! Kwin works! I need to find out why gdm can't run it and why some other things aren't working. It also reports kde as 4.5.3 =(
