Motherboard no long "beeps" on startup

Thread Starter
After some unfortunate things happened, my motherboard no longer beeps when starting it up. It also boots up significantly slower. Is this something to worry about or is it no big deal?

there shouldnt be a long beep then boot up to begin with. A short beep is normal alltho i never had a mobo that beeped each time it booted.

^ A motherboard WILL 'beep' everytime you POST if you have an internal speaker. This comes from the motherboard speaker that's usually placed near the on/reset/HDD-LED headers.

Try checking whether the speaker is connected correctly... Try being specific with 'some unfortunate things'.

This. The only time a motherboard will ever beep is if the internal speaker is enabled(connected).
