Xonar DG Problems (Mic & FP Headphone Issues)

Hey all.

Okay so I just bought a Xonar DG and must say, over onboard audio, it is damned awesome (especially where headphones are concerned!). But there are a number of problems that I've run into...

1) My mic will not work. I have tried plugging it into the front panel jack and also the line-in jack (on the Xonar card itself), but to no avail. I've attempted to boost the mic from Xonar Audio Center's Mixer tab, trying both the 'MIC' and 'Line In' selections...but that didn't work either.

2) When trying to use my headphones, I cannot get any signal from the Front Panel headphone jack---the only way I can listen with my headphones right now is by unplugging my X-540's completely and plugging in my headphones through the "Front"/Green jack on the Xonar card.

I am using the HD-AUDIO connection on my motherboard and made sure to configure the Xonar driver to match. Both the mic and headphone jacks (and the actual microphone and headset) worked fine in the FP Jacks before the card was installed.

Any ideas, solutions, or experiences with this kind of thing?

Thanks guys!

Oh and f.y.i: I disabled the onboard Realtek in BIOS before installing the card, but I did not uninstall its drivers.

Just to be sure, when you say "using the HD-Audio on your mobo", do you have the front panel header connected to the mobo or the soundcard? It needs to be connected directly to the soundcard.

...you know what? I didn't know that. Lol.

I'm totally new to the sound card game. So let me try that and I'll reply with the outcome.

EDIT***

Okay so that definitely cleared up my front panel headphone issue. Thanks for that!

However. The microphone jack is still incapacitated. I've tried boosting it through Asus Audio Center, but no dice. Perhaps a driver reinstall?

Goto Start button (Win7) and type "sound" and select sound from Control Panel listing.

Click on Recording tab. Click on Microphone which says Asus Xonar Audio Device, should be default. Then click on properties.

Click on Custom tab. And deselect everything here and click Apply!

Check if it this works. You should see greenbars rise when you speak.
Probaly some kind of bug here. After this I didn't have any problems with the microphone with Asus Xonar DG and my Sennheiser PC360.

Hopefully this works for other people as well because I couldnot find any solutions online anywhere. teaching.gif
