Hey guys! My name is Hayden. Originally from Ireland, now living in the U.S.

I am 17 years of age, and hm... not sure what else to put! Happened upon this site via Google, and I HAD to join! So much information, and people seem friendly!

Thanks, Thrash!

Well, the thing with that is, it's a pathetic system. I've got a crumby EMachine.

Thats actually why I am here! I read that I was not allowed to ask questions here... but maybe this question is ok? Could you please direct me to the section where I would ask for help , for my first build? I REALLY need help here with this, while I have some money.

LOL, where did you read you can't ask questions? Ask away. that is what this place is for. Just make sure you search for a thread if you have a problem before you post a new thread about the problem. This prevents multiple threads about the same problem.

what do you need to know about a good build?
can you give us a price range?
Your knowledge of building computers, what you are going to use it for.

Possible preference of amd or intel, or nvidia and ATI.

Wow, quick welcomes! Thank you very much, 06! If I may call you that. =)

This sites seems to be very well organized, which makes me very comfortable with asking for advice! And , hopefully, getting to the point where I can be one giving some helpful advice to another.

Whoever said you can't ask questions on here doesn't know what they are talking about. I ask question on here all the time.

You can ask as many questions as you want. Trust me, you will get tired before the people of OCN stop answering.

lol, Perhaps I read that wrong? Man, I have been to so many forums its not even funny! I probably got that mixed up with another site lol.

Well, my budget is very small... $500 =/ Though, I WILL be upgrading over time. Thing is, I would Really like to have something I can start using straight away! And I know this isn't important, but... please don't roll your eyes! lol... I am DYING to have ... a nice case.

As for what I am looking for:

I would like to get into games such as Assassins Creed, etc. Also, I'd be using it as my home entertainment (movies, etc). Perhaps a bit of editing with like, Photoshop or whatever. Basically, I am looking for the impossible, probably! I keep having people tell me I'm cheap and if I expect to game, I need to save more money! That says to me that some people lack creativity! Thats one thing I do not lack. Only thing I lack is the time, and needed skills to get into building and whatnot. Which I DO plan to do! I LOVE to learn new things, being a Science/History, Etc .. Channel geek! My gf tells me she .. ugh, sorry got off topic there.

Also, I was told AMD is best for gaming, maybe thats just the preference of some, its what I assume anyway. I do not know much about all the differences. But I shall learn over time!

So yes, the impossible dream for me is to have myself a nice semi-gaming computer, for $500. It will be difficult but I am up for the challenge. I'm just running out of time and its getting on my nerves. =)

Apologies if I left anything out, or strayed. I've got a difficult time getting to the point most times.
