Looking for a high end graphic card - Page 2

A 560 cannot maxed out every games now with OP's resolution.
He will at least have problem with Metro 2033, Crysis, along with Lost Planet 2.
Mafia2 with maxed PhysX will kill it too.

What games are you into? Getting SLi GTX 560 Ti is a great budget setup.

I think my xfire 6970s are pretty nice. But if you went the single 580 route that would be ok too.

I vote a heavily overclocked GTX 560, and adding another one down the road. That PSU scares me, however; 500W is the minimum for performance parts these days, and even then, it needs to be a quality model. Can you open up your case and tell us the manufacturer of the PSU?

In addition, their Ultra Durable materials and Windforce anti-turbulence cooling would make this card performs much better than other 560s, I've ordered a 560SO in TIGER DIRECT, they told me next Monday I could receive it, really exciting notification!!
You sure it's a the SOC? From what I can tell, Tiger Direct only cares their base model.

The PSU is an Antec 500w. Would a single 6970 or 580 be better than trying to run two 560s? The PSU can be upgraded to if needed to be.

spite what others say, the best bang/buck is 2x gtx 460's sli. thats right, 460's. you can get them open box for around 150$ each. thats 2x gtx 460s for the price (or almost) the price of a single gtx 560.

2x gtx 460s will max games for atleast 2-3 years.

although you may need a better psu. id say atleast a 600w maybe 650w.

Nvidia GTX 580 to be king of the current hill or AMD Raedeon 6970 to be really close. Depends on your budget. Run Crysis on my GTX 580 in Enthusiast mode with AA x4. Really sweet eye candy. No stutter. Like a hot knife through butter.

That was easy.

There's -nothing- "budget" about 2 ~260 USD cards.

This, but same as above. 350-400 on GPUs isn't budget. Edit: AiC rocks.

Antec 500 watt.. which model? How old is it? You may very well need to replace it, especially if you want an SLI setup/high overclocks.

If you're looking for a single card setup under your price range:

AMD: 6950 (flashed to 6970) or just a 6970
nVidia: 570

You may need to upgrade your PSU, maybe not. Doesn't look like you have much else in your case that would take power away. As long as it has the connectors to power either card.

If you're looking for a double card setup, we would need to know your motherboard so we can suggest either a SLI/xFire setup.

AMD xFire: 6950's
nVidia SLI: 560's / 570's.

Both will require you to upgrade your PSU.
