Strange, Limited Connection.

Before you pass this off as a nooby question, let me say it's not what you think. I'm having this really wierd problem that prevents me from opening any webpage directly. I.e, clicking certain links or typing the web address in the address bar. However, I can go to websites if i search for them first and click the link in the search results. I am also having problems connecting to other certain online areas, such as SecondLife. I can play SC II and WoW just fine, though. I've tried Diagnose and Repair connection, but to no avail. Any ideas?

Have you tried a different web browser? Disconnect/reconnect your modem/router?
I'm not really too sure what the problem could be but it could be some sort of issue with your web browser.. Did you reboot your computer?

Tried it on a different web browser. Got the same problem. Going to try unplugging/replugging my router and rebooting here in a sec.

EDIT: No dice. Problem is persisting. Going to try a virus scan.

EDIT: Also, I found that I can get the pages to load if i refresh them a bunch of times. >.<. This is wierd.

It could be some sort of an issue with your isp. Seems like I've had some connection problems before and just rebooted my modem and I believe that gets your modem a new ip.

Are you running an IP blocker? On a proxy?

Nope. I'm on a modem though. Tried unplugging it but this is still happening. The only thing that could be blocking any connection is my AV, but everything's ship-shape in that area.

I had this issue before, kind of. Whenever I would go to "google.com" it would route me to a "fake" google. It was some sort of rootkit apparently. I used Malwarebytes to get rid of it.

Also, check your internet connections and make sure it didn't get set though a proxy.
