To OP:
If I may, would you be willing to go SLI? If so, you can get an i7-950 with 2 GTX 560s for the same price as one 580 but much more powerful.

This particular 560 has a great heatsink and has been proven to reach an OC of 1Ghz, maybe even more.

I have gotten my prices from Austin Computers. Maybe the others have cheaper prices but I doubt.

Meh 920s are rare. I hate the 560s btw even though I'm not op. Their over priced and under powered. For under $200 they could easily increase that power even more with a 570 sli. Stupid 560s their dumb cards.
580s clock high too and ofcourse two cards are better than one. But take a high clocked 580 vs driver issues and not all games supporting 560s in sli and bam, 580 wins out every time. People who can buy a 580 can also buy WC setups. 580 WC OCed against two idiotic 560s which probably can't go past 1ghx on water and what do we have... 580 win.

Sorry it's nothing against you.

I just hate 560s. Really hate them.

I have 2 460s OCed to 875. Nvidia shouldnt have started charging that much for them. For the price of one 560 you can get two 460s which easily crush it.

Well I do have a GTX 260 ~750MB in the current computer that I'm using now. Could I SLI with that? Also I may not be building my own computer.

That would be an option but please read my quote below and what spykerv has said.

Haha, yeah. I know what you mean about SLI having much more problems (like driver issues and games not properly supporting SLI) than a single card configuration. Not to mention more power consumption.

To OP:

I suggest selling your gtx 260, and buy a decent Fermi.

No, but you can use it as a physx card. OP just buy the 950 + 580 if it's the best deal you can it.

It will not disappoint I promise you that.

Exactly why. I mean in the 460 days, two 460s STILL COST LESS than a 480 so it made sense. Heck they were around the price of some 470s. But those days are gone. 560s are overpriced and under performing.

A physx card? So it handles the physics part of the game (guessing)?

Yes. If you aren't sure what physx is, look up the company Aegia and physx on wikipedia. It's really impractical and this you should only do if you can't sell your 250. If you can sell it, sell it. If you can't. Physx card.
