I had an E6600 paired up with my 460, and when you OC it no benchmark shows any bottlenecking

Though you could see it in games. Is WoW more CPU or GPU dependant?

EDIT: The 1 gig 460 definitely. Especially if you are playing in HD.

1) GTX460 or GTX560 1GB depending on budget
2) 2 more gigs of rams w/same speed and timings as you have
3) Windows 7 64-bit
4) Decent cooler
5) OC the cpu and gpu
6) Profit!!!

From what I've read, WoW does like CPU power ... I wouldn't discount the value of OC'ing your processor for this particular game.

wow is generally more graphic card intensive since of all the pretty effects and stuff, but when there is really really a lot of people in the same place then your cpu is being stressed more
that's not really an answer you are looking for i'm sure, but this only tells you that you need to balance gpu and cpu, and everything will be fine

sell that memory and get these, if you know how to oc your best option is to upgrade your rig and get a good oc at of it.. with this later on you can upgrade to newer platform and you´ll just have to sell the ram and get a new cpu, board, ram

Wow is more dependent on your CPU frequency as opposed to core count. a 3.3 ghz dual core will do better than a 2.4 ghz quad core with wow. This is not true with much else. The video card I linked in my first post is the correct one to get if you are going to go the 460 route. Its the 1gb version and it is the most reliable brand.
