Ultra x3 600w question

Thread Starter
I read a review on newegg for the msi geforce 460 that said you need a PSU that has 2 12v connectors at 24 or 25 amps minimum. On my PSU box it shows +12v 36A . Does this mean 36A per 12v connector or 36/2? [2 connectors at 18v each]

While I wouldn't call that a 600w it is enough for a GTX 460.

heres what I found about the card
450 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 24 Amps on the +12 volt rail.
so the +12 volt rail means in total? Or per connector?

sorry if these are simple questions....I am very new to this.

It means you need 24 amps of total power on the 12v, so that's 24x12 (288w).

Oh thank you so much game boy!

Linskingdom: Nope, I was planning on getting a SLI mobo with phenom x2 3.2 and some other stuff. You can see what I am planning on my thread in AMD>General. No one there seemed able to answer my question about the PSU so I popped in here for a sec
