I wonder how fast those Sandy Bridge fans will flock to Bulldozer once they realize the viable & realizable improvements the new AMD Bulldozer CPUs have over SB & Ive CPUs..

You can rant and rave about SB this SB that all you want, and even talk about Ive, but it's not even in the same league as Bulldozer, but I suppose you are going to have to wait to see that for yourself, as no amount of words would convince you otherwise..

============================

I'm NOT saying Ive Bridge won't be a viable choice, but lets get real here most Enthusiast want THE BEST in most cases...

Or did I did miss a memo somewhere?
Charlie, is that you?

Now seriously... You're sad, really.

You're making assumptions about a product NO ONE but AMD knows anything about. And honestly, AMD has a lot of ground to cover. I hope it does well, but I don't see it, unfortunately.

I was thinking the same thing, here is to hoping that they got some inside info on bulldozer and are worried.

I'll still be picking up an i5 2400 when ITX motherboards return. Perhaps I'll replace it with an Ivy processor next year.

Sandy Bridge is pretty high-end in my book, some people just can't accept it.

It's ridiculous.
I don't get it either, I've had my i7 system for over 18 months now! It's served it's purpose well enough. I guess most of us are just upset that Intel essentially killed the 1366 platform many of us invested so much into. Our only real upgrade choice is with a $900 CPU :/

Oh well, I'll be upgrading to Ivy Bridge ASAP.

Haha, what? You telling me upgrading from my Barton (Athlon 64) and Radeon 9700 Pro machine was poorly researched, and I should've waited another year? (a year filled with more excellent Civ 4 and modded Morrowind, mind you, but I've been playing those for 6 years!)
Assumptions [i.e. that everyone has a machine built within the last year] make an ass of you and mumptions : \\

Dude, WHAT?

Why would you get an SB now, when something is going to be bigger and better by the time that Ivy Bridge comes out? What you said made absolutely no sense.

Lest we forget, LGA 2011 for Sandybridge-EX comes out when Ivybridge comes out. I advise that you wait to have a lot of builds to choose from.

And I hope Intel isn't rushing the design and overlooking minor details, because the P67 recall was bad enough.

Good thing they won't need a new chipset for this, so the new revision of Cougar Point (P67 and H67) should have no problem running these puppies.
I think they may be rushing it because of the bad PR they received with Sandy Bridge. Something to excite customers and, at least for a moment, take their minds off the recall. But I agree, rushing development would be extremely foolish, and a second mishap like the Sandy Bridge could land them another notch down in the CPU war.

You're also forgetting that in a year, I could throw my 2600k SB chip up for sale on OCN or even eBay for ~$250 easily, and grab the IB.

Maybe because he wants it?

And then, when Ivy Bridge comes out, he'll just put a new CPU in there?

It's not like it will be needed, because SB kicks the crap out of anything, so I will be keeping mine for a few years.
