[Joystiq]Visceral Games hears disabled gamer, adding customizable controls to DS2

Spooky cathedrals, fun technology and lots of slimy necromorphs to dismember at will -- is there anything else you could possibly want in Dead Space 2? Well, Gareth Garratt, a gamer living with cerebral palsy, would like to see customizable controls implemented in the game. Garratt is trying to play the horror sequel on PC, partly by pushing a mouse with his chin, and is unhappy that he can't assign the "walk forward" command to a mouse button. Plenty of games allow for customizable controls, he says, so why can't Dead Space 2?

It's a feature that should have been in the game from day one.

I think it is the point that: "all games should be playable by all folks - no matter their number of, or capability of, limbs".

Control remapping is possibly the most basic thing to implement into a game. There's no excuse for every PC game to not have it. Your post makes it sound as though he made them redo the game from the ground up just for him.

I think its not to much to expect fully customizable controls by default. His main point was he wanted to assign mouse 1 to walk, and the fact that it wouldn't allow him to do so is strange considering allot of ppl use that configuration.

Its just laziness on the devs part. W/e though they fixed it so thats good.
