BD has many advanced tech/ideas/features, that K10 has not ..
Add hispeed internal design, 32nm manufacturing process (HIKMG for the first time @AMD)
..advanced powersaving features, boosted integer performance, proper avx implementation..

it should OC really well, thanks to these features, and the new manuf.tech
only amd engineers in lab know - how much exactly

simply said, BD cannot fail - this is not "yet another K10".
BD is total different one, has nothing common with K10.
BD will make look K10 like weak toy, imo
------
all we need is wait for launch date - for real numbers, not those fake numbers all around we see these days

Ok so this is more speculation but its pretty recent so why not add here with the rest of the speculation for your consideration enjoyment

Look what I spotted, its a guy who has the first ever AMD Bulldozer cpu box in its new red "Vision" branding.

Also there were some apparent benchmarks too that pretty much agree with everyones 2600K equaliser predictions. I can't vouch for the validity of these benchmarks and really hope that bulldozer does at least a little better. Although if they are true perhaps this will bring 2600K performance to sub £200 price bracket.

Oh and here is a picture of a regular AMD box so you can see the simularity to the red one. Slightly confusing as it seems the hologram is now at the top of the box.

Edited For Pietro, That is putin.

@Ace Telekinesis:
You're sooooooo funny. Why don't you use Mr Putin to do a "hitler's angry" style you tube video? You might get an "endorsement " from the former KGB...

In a standard environment, 2 cores would actually be ~190% faster than one core, not 200% (there is some overhead in multithreading.) In Bulldozer 2 cores in a module would be ~180% than one core, so there is a small overhead in the sharing of components.

But, if we were not sharing components we would only be able to get about 12 cores into the same amount of die space.

By sharing we are getting ~33% more cores and a significant overall increase in throughput.
I think from this statement, I'm able to come up with an assumption of what Performance MAY Possibly be in Bulldozer VS a Quad Core w/ HT..
Granted Sandy Bridge is a BEAST!!!!

In the above statement Bulldozer = -10% / Core VS True Single Core ~ or -20% Vs Dual Core...

Therefore we must subtract for Hyper Threading which can be 18-42% Performance Gains depending upon which bench test you are running, so for the sake of averages, we will call it a 30% average gain overall..

By looking at the information above, this gives us 180% (Expected Gain from 1 vs 2 Cores or 2 vs 4 Cores) - 30% for figuring in for Hyper Threading.. Leaving us with an Expected 150% gain in most cases...

Therefore when comparing...

A Dual Core w/ HT vs a Bulldozer Quad Core

We should expect the 180% Gain - 30% for Hyper Threading, essentially 150% or (50% gain)

So we should expect a Quad Core to beat an i3 w/ HT by 150%
(This seems bloated and unlikely, but then again we don't have much data!)

Now comparing a Quad Core w/ HT i7-950 vs a Bulldozer Zambezi 8 Core...
The difference here is we have to adjust for 4 cores
180% / 2 core vs 1 core or 80% overall gain X 4 Cores / 2 = 160% Performance or (60% Expected Gain in Performance over i7-950)

Leaving us with a 135% Projected Gain over the i7-950, based upon the above information provided....

Again, this seems far fetched, truly, but it make logical sense when you compare a dual core vs a quad core, the difference is INDEED 180-200% more performance, without a doubt... So essentially, more cores WILL be better than hyper threading, and significantly too when they are multiplied by 2...(eg 1 vs 2 or or 2 vs 4 or 4 vs 8 cores)

We allocated for Hyper Threading Bonus Performance gain to come up with this estimate, and it is clearly an educated assumptive & speculative guess, at best...

If we get this kind of performance out of Bulldozer LOOK OUT... whoosh!

I'd be willing to say that Bulldozer will be significantly better than Sandy Bridge, though I could be wrong, because I don't have much to go on!

I'm expecting Bulldozer to be 20% Higher Performance OVER Sandy Bridge, or more! (I'm guessing Bulldozer = Ivy Bridge)

Kind of like the above post eh? I get your point, well worded too..

You may want to get out the grinder for AMD, Bulldozer is going to be pushing A LOT of Sandy Bridge chips into the dumpster or Recycling Bin (sell sell sell!)

Let's see, I use a lot of abbreviations, so GTech could be replaced wit GSpecTech to give me a middle name... But I'm not seeing it...

So to answer your question in a round about way, it could be though it's not..

I like speculating & thinking on boards, people can say what they want about me, I care not...

I know you're excited for Bulldozer, but man, until we have some real numbers from reliable sources, everything else is pure speculation.
