I wonder how much DNA & Parallel computing will impact us in the future?

Nevertheless didn't someone just shatter a record with an AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black edt.???

AMD hate mail not accepted here, sorry...

Go back to the Intel fan boards.. where ever they are...

I cannot wait till Bulldozer fires up & we get benches, COME ON!!!!

I cannot wait to stand up in my computer chair, fist raised in the air, screaming YUS YUS YUS!

I'm even more excited when I start analyzing & talking about those Fusion Chips, woooo hooo!

When AMD starts to get more of the market shares from Intel they will have more money to focus on Engineering & Improvements, obviously their former CEO took their focus away from what mattered, WHAT WE THE BUYERS WANT!!!!

Apparently posting facts is considered being a hater, but posting wishful thinking theoretical performance is consider a fact huh GSpecTech? ALL your posts are more fanboish then what others are posting ITT.

Are you going to cry if BD doesn't live up to the hype?

Fact: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/2

Bulldozer: ??????

That's all we know right now.

About servers, my dedicated server uses a Quad Xeon and my and my client sites are always up and running.

But I thought we were discussing DESKTOP processors since that's what Zambezi is, is it not?

few words on server oftopic -

IBM presented their new cpu - it has awesome specs.
It runs 24/7 @5.2GHz (no turbo) produced at 45nm PDSOI
and of course it has HUGE badass caches (even L4 ..)

Bad thing is - it costs arm and leg, and is not x86 compatible

Therefore i´m eyerolling on SB overclocks... (32nm)

It’s reported that the new chip could cost as high as the hundreds of thousands, or even up to a million.
Probably wanna go get it, unless you're one of OCN many millionaires.

Actually, I'm quite comfortable thanks for asking, are these the symptoms AMD guys feel when they see their CPU's get spanked? That's sad really.

I've posted on many other threads before that if BD delivers, I'll have new gear to play with. I upgraded from an AMD rig to my current rig, and the difference is like night and day. On my previous AMD computer it used to take 20 hours to encode a 30 minute video, that same video now takes 25 minutes to encode. You think I'm happy I switched? You know how much more money I make due to this simple fact?

Unlike many posters here, I don't have a 1 track mind, and I'm open to possibilities.

I also know that cheaper isn't always better ( clearly )

The difference is that I need proof, before I make up my mind on something, and so far, all I've heard about BD is pure speculation, and theoretical performance. People have based their opinion on BD based on 50% faster than the 950 "leak" from a Turkish website, JF-AMD has confirmed that "what ever that was, it didn't come from AMD"

Prior to the the 6970 release, it was reported to be 40% - 50% FASTER than the 580, and we all know how that turned out. It ended up trading blows with the 570. AMD's flagship trading blows with Nvidia's 2nd best, impressive ( for Nvidia )

After using AMD rigs before, and experiencing the difference, yea, I'm skeptical about what they say, and what they actually deliver. All I ever hear is BS talk about how the benchmarks are rigged or what ever. Yet, there are people like BallaTheFeared who is now labeled as an "AMD Hater" who posted his results and experiences with the 1090T vs a 2500K, and chose the latter for obvious performance gains, but hey, if we don't agree with your opinion on how great AMD is, we're labeled haters or fanboys.

I went from a Regor 245 @ 3.6, to a 555 @3.9, to another 555 @4.1, to a 965 @4.3, to a 1090T @ 4.5, to an i5-2500k.

Know what I learned from all those chips?

AMD couldn't deliver on what I wanted, and I think I gave them more than a fair shake.

No, no, no. You are clearly an intel fanboy and an amd hater because you have an intel chip and point out that phenom II's can't compare on a clock for clock basis.
