More like, "Barcelona was outperformed by 40% compared to Intel's Clovertown/Kentsfield"

Also please note the most important part of what you linked but did not quote.

Even then he admits that they aren't real numbers and assumes several things (as he does note). His main assumption is 50% increase over existing AMD products. Manufacter numbers are always idealistic as was said before. They are claiming 18% over SandyBridge. I will believe it when I see it and test it for myself.
The thread isn't about an SB vs BD comparison, i didn't quote his estimate of that because it wasn't relevent.

As it turns out I was using the wrong performance graph anyway! PMSL

The key figure is 50% more performance for 33% more cores. This has been quoted many times, but obviously your too busy wallowing in your self importance to notice.

Yes your right, WE don't know how BD will really perform, but how can AMD not know? In other words, there are performance figures out there, and saying "I don't know what the performance of BD is, therefore no one does" is moronic.

Going by your own admission, the 16 core bd chip will get around 11.11 (lol)

So the 8 core version should get around 5.55, which is horrible. But I'm use they'll raise the clocks, so we'll give it a nice juicy 7.

lol...

Farewell AMD, was nice knowing you.

Yeah, that doesn't look good does it?

On the other hand, surely it can't be worse than thuban? Unless that's why AMD is leaching managers...

At stock clocks my Thuban gets 5.6 in cinebench, so 50% more would put BD 8 core on 8.4 at the same clocks. Though that is assuming that the 50% is at the same clocks, it could be 50% with 500Mhz more...

Of course amd knows how fast BD is, problem is they HAVEN'T RELEASED ANY OF THAT INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC! No one is arguing amd doesn't know how fast it is, lol.

w@nking on one benchmark/"app" that uses a minority of pro users.... very "useful" , and odd looking
(cinebench) i shoud rather say cine-bent, that sounds more apropriate because that bent-mark favors intel inside CPUID

well said
truth is , amd engineers know for weeks/months performance of BD, but public must wait until launch

yes, that was told many times, but dont forget those words are aimed at server chips.

From MagnyCours i know, how well locked AMD server chips are..
That does mean, desktop has way less locks/restrictions ...
Add to estimation fact -> integer cores are really small (+hispeed design), there is chance of high overclocks (atleast in "sandy bridge style", if not better)

Yeah but 12 core BD and 8 core BD are the same silicon, the clock speed factor was why I put that proviso in. Frankly, i'm not expecting a massive jump here, especially with BD mark I, we can all get our hopes up again over mark II! LOL

Oh purple, its sad to see you like this

Bent-mark.... Well that explains why my AMD system ran slower... because of the CPUID.

lol

You're the only failure this thread has seen.

You created a thread and ask people to extrapolate the performance of Zambezi based on an overclocked 760.

_Gtech, every post or thread I read by you, makes my belief stronger: You have no credibility at all.
