is gtx295 still a top card if you don't think about directx 11 support,i've seen benchmarks on hwcompare and its quite similar with, for example,gtx580 and beats most of the other cards

yup, you are looking at 5870 perfermance. Still a good card on its own at reasonable resolutions and overclocked.
Not the best out there but it is still very potent minus the DX11

Its still a great card.
Basically GTX 275 SLI.
It'll be between the 470 and the 480 performance wise, depending on SLI scaling.

well, quad SLI on those things ain't that great ... IMO, a 470 SLI option would be better since 2 cards scale way better than 4.

Any single card? In terms of raw processing power, probably not until the GTX 590 and HD 6990 launch.

Plenty of Fermi sli setups will out-muscle it though.

It's still a very powerful card and well capable of doing/playing anything out there, the only downside is it's lack of the obvious DX11 features.

I was actually considering upgrading mine for a GTX580 recently, but after reviewing various performance figures decided against it, I just don't think it's worth it for the small performance percentage I'd gain. I'll see what comes along after the 580 or so.
