Backing up data to external drive

Thread Starter
Hey all,

I have a 1TB hdd in my desktop. I also have a 1TB external drive that I would like to use to back up everything on my desktop.

So im wondering what would be the recommended way of doing that? are there certain programs? or something I can just enable in windows? Any help would be awesome, haven't really done a lot of this before, just usually transfer specific files that are critical for back up, not the entire drive.

Thanks for the help, Cheers !

if you have win7 open Start type backup and restore hit enter and set it up. I have my SSD auto backup to my HDD and it works great. It will also let you have create a bootable image.

^ This is the fastest/easiest way without spending money on a backup program. If you want some other options, there is Norton Ghost. That is, in my opinion, Norton's only good program.

For a free third-party solution, check out Comodo's backup utility. It has a lot of really cool features and easy-to-use UI. They also have a bunch of other handy programs you might want to check out.
