m4n98td evo SLI problems? HELP

Thread Starter
hey i have a m4n98td evo and ive just brought 2 gtx 260 evga SC cards and i have a 260gtx xfx BE and 9800gtx BE and a regular 9800gtx but the problem is:

i can run all of these cards singularly BUT, when i try and sli my 9800gtx's together my comp only see's one card the black edition one, so i thought this was just because they were not the same make, so i brought 2 GTX 260 EVGA SC cards that have been run in sli so i know they definately work but when i try and run in sli only one of the gpu's work lets name them A and B so A wont output a display but B will and it dosnt matter which way the cards are it can be B buy itself, B, A or a,B and all only see one card but if i try A by itself it still wont output a display, so then i thought the card might be faulty so i tryed it in one of my non sli motherboards and it worked fine, so i know both cards work and both the Pci-e slots work so i dont know what the problem is?

some background information:
CPU: phenom ii x4 stock cooled at stock speed:3.4ghz
RAM: ddr3 1600mhz 4gb
MOBO: asus m4n98td evo
PSU: corsair tx850w
OS: windows 7 64bit

i have installed all the latest nvidia drivers and bios updates and chipset drivers, ive reinstalled windows 7 on a new HDD and still have the same problem.

and yes i have put the sli bridge on

can anyone help me with this problem? i would really appriciate it!

Have you updated your bios lately? video card drivers? If you have upgraded the drivers, then maybe you can try rolling back the drivers. Honestly, this kind of sounds like a bios problem.

EDIT: interesting you have this board as this was going to be one of my next purchases this weekend. Hope I don't have the same problem with two 460.

Rma the board.
I never had any sli problems with it though
Just MASSIVE vdroop and my lan port died
Being repaired right now by asus.
For $150 you might be better off with an asrock and sli hack it

but can you do this on ANY mobo with dual PCI-E ports? I have a mobo now that does....but it's crossfire and my card only does sli. I was actually going to give the mobo to my GF and buy the mobo that the OP was going to buy.

Hmmmm, I see some folks saying they failed at doing this or they didn't notice big gains either. I need to do some research, but thanks for the starter thread. Much appreciated.

I would get a replacement board of the same kind. Then if it doesn't work for you then you might want to check some video card settings in the nvidia control panel. Have you tried calling nvidia customer support? Or the manufacturers customer support.
