Bad Company 2 fps

Thread Starter
So few months ago I upgraded from E8500@4Ghz to X4 965@Stock, I still use same settings 1680x1050, High details, 8AA, 8AF but my fps now is pretty low, right now I usually have about 40-50 Fps, changing AA and AF to 4 dosn't give much fps as well. Is there any way to optimize something or i dont know but I just cant get more fps then 75 max in game. Any ideas?

I'll try with DirectX10 and reduceing shadows as I read that DirectX11 has just bit softer shadows. I dont want less AA then 8 but it looks as I have no other chance.

here is the thing.

BC2 likes higher clocks more than it does more extra cores. Thats straight from a devs post in the bf blog.

So by changing from a overclocked dual to a stock quad. you equalled yourself out, or came out slightly ahead or behind.

do not run dx10, dx11 features performance enhancements that run faster than dx9 even does.

Also your fps is tied to how many players are in the game, because they add to the cpu processing because of their movements, bullets, and it increases load on the sound engine that also runs on the CPU. So you will get higher fps with 24 players than you will 32 players.

You can edit settings down in the INI file if you need to.

The maximum temp for the 965 is 62c. Ideally you'll want to keep it under 55cc under load.

Trito, did you do a fresh install of windows and your motherboard's drivers? That could be a reason as well if you just a swap of parts and no software re-installs.

My 965@4.0ghz + GTX480 gets 60fps maxed out on 1080p with BFBC2 so avg of 45-50 isn't bad at all for a 460.
