How large of a PSU would i need for :

Thread Starter
Currently i Have a 850w Ultra x3 PSU. and with income tax returns coming up i was thinking of getting a 5970 and a GTX 250 for phyX and make the amd/nvidia hybrid beast

should i play it safe and kick it up to a 1k?

(price isnt really an issue)

and IF so should what should i get?

i was eyeing up this one

5970 is a 300w GPU. GTS250 is a 150w GPU and uses less power in phyX. That 850w unit should be fine.

A 850w power supply is more than enough. Ultra isn't the best psu company but that psu would be sufficient.
